David Brooks On Moving Too Fast: GOP In Wilderness
Filed Under Cargo Networking
Bob Schieffer talking to David Brooks and John Harris about what Obama does once elected and Brooks says that if he moves too fast and tries to do too much at once it will “freak people out” and that he needs to do it in steps. Harris reminds him that’s not going to happen since the majorities are not large enough.
Then Brooks goes on to trash the people he’s been defending in his columns week after week and says they have no belief system and are a circular firing squad and trying to decide if it’s Palin or the moderates who are the future of the GOP, and that the conservative movement has failed because it hasn’t addressed the problems of today. I think it’s failed because it’s ideas are bankrupt. All they have is guns, gays and god and hatred to run on when this country is in trouble.

how can you not see Ron Paul as the ideological leader if not the peoples man!
yes, it was him. Next time, Google before you respond.
Brooks has been wrong for so long Im surprised he still shows his face on national media.
Jindal is cut from the same cloth as Palin, he wants intellgent design taught in schools.
no thats not him. And secondly Brooks is absolutely brilliant, and I’m a liberal who worked for obama.
Fuck David Brooks! Isn’t he that dumbass who claimed that Obama was out of touch with regular joe, and would fit in at an Applebee’s salar bar (despite the fact that Applebee’s don’t have a salad bar)?
The more this guy talks, the more credibility he loses.
But the almighty, Lord Limbaugh the Merciful doesn’t agree… And he is infallible and omnipotent…
hey david…there was a coherent energy policy in place over 30 years ago…put together by the carter administration…your god reagan dismantled it, because it didnt benefit his oil buddies
you are much better at eating your own…you helped to create the current monstrosity that is the republican party…hope they lynch you
Brooks - I dont share his political beliefs but I find his interesting and he is right there is no Reagan to save the GOP. Palin will be a disaster for the Republicans in 2012, it would be another easy 4 years for Obama. My money is on Jindal.
Here we go again, pundits playing psychics for the Obama White House, how pathetic!!!
Thanks, heathr! David Brooks is one of the few intelligent GOPers who ‘gets’ it… the Hell, No faction brought their disaster upon themselves. Welcome to the REAL millenium of forward-thinkers.
I wish I could have given your comment 1000 thumbs up!
lol
I want my 40 acres and a reach-around.
lol
interesting times, n’est-ce pas?

Peace!
Obama will need to make some tought decisions when Isreal attacks.
the divorced give the best advised how to maintain one’s marriage. i would hope obama would follow the second model brooks described. steady, build a reservoir of trust, maintain if not add to house and senate seats and keep republicnas out of business all the way to 2020 at least. sorry but things like gays in the military and such can wait until he’s achieved multiple milestones and built capital
The GOP could have at least given us reach- arounds all these years. LOL
What’s up Baron?
I’d MUCH rather see an over-reach than an under-reach. Fuck under-reaching. We been doing that for decades.
Peace.
But guys, you lost. If anybody listened to you, the election would have turned out very differently.
The economy and health care are very complicated, therefore they must be divinely created.
“I loved Reagan, but those days are over” No kidding?
If the government wants to earn “faith” they need to start going after these criminals that emptied the treasury and liquidating them and putting the money back. Start with haliburton and AIG.
