Callica - Erica tells Callie she’s gay - Grey’s Anatomy 506

**Note: Brooke Smith was fired from Grey’s Anatomy for playing a gay character. The controversy surrounding her character’s relationship with Sara Ramirez’s has led to her being let go. Sara Ramirez is said to be next. Don’t let homophobia win: write to ABC and let them know you believe in equality and love.

SEND LEAVES or letters to protest the firing!

If you can include a short note saying “We see leaves too!” or “We support Brooke” or the like, that would be great. (**Best not to identify on the OUTside that your mail is part of this campaign. Make them open it!)

    this is so…well, disappointing.
I’ve been a fan of grey’s since the beginning, but for them to just write her off like that? argh!

seriously people Brooke Smith is an amazing actor!
i personally think they’re making a huge mistake, and i think i’m done with grey’s for a while.

All the best and all my support to Brooke in the future!

Ya I argee with you too it was badly written the could have made it way more exciting the rushed their “relationship” and there was no fun in it really…very disappointed they just gave up on it though…it’s their loss though she is a fantastic actress and that scene right there in my opinion was the most moving, genuine and stunning piece of acting in the whole series.

  8. welikeemos on November 11th, 2008 12:02 am

I totally agree with you… she had me in tears watching that scene she’s fantastic and they really did make a big big mistake coz a lot of people are not happen with the way this whole thing was handled and the interview with patrick dempsey on ellen was SO staged im so annoyed with the way their relationship ended they could have at least givin’ her a decent exit.

To fire an actress like Brooke Smith after a performance like that speaks volumes for the network. To be quite frank, they don’t deserve the array of talent they have. And they most certainly do not deserve Ms Smith. I wish her all the best with her future endeavours and she should know, she has a fan for life.

Such a pathetic joke. BOIKOT GREYS ANATOMY. “See, too much for you”

  11. justinthecrazy on November 11th, 2008 12:02 am

That was one of the most moving things I have ever seen. I was really looking forward to the direction that Grey’s was taking. Finally a show has the decency to write a character that so many people who haven’t had a character on that show to relate to, now have someone they can relate to. Brooke Smith is a talented actress and it is a shame that they completely eliminate her from the show. Just when you think the world is coming closer to embracing our differences, it disappoints you again.

i thought this was one of the best scenes in the history of the show. i’m so dissapointed with them. i wish one of the cast members would say something to stand up against it.

  16. coquinegau on November 11th, 2008 12:02 am

I saw the article … it will be over this
week … sad sad sad ! Brooke said that they kind of just got rid of her and her last scene
will be her walking to her car and thats it !
I knew this was coming but even if i wanted them to have a romance i was more convince by brooke’s acting .
They said that it would maybe open another door for callie later … whatever …
It was strange from the start anyway .
As much as we wanted them together
we have to admit it was badly writen .. sad

i can’t belive that they are firing Brooke!!! why can’t they understand that they sould have brooke back! homophobia is not an bad thing! and about sara.. they shouldn’t fire her! i think we all should make a list and let them know that we are NOT going to accept this!!!!!!! homophobia is not an reason to fire her! or anyone else! i have cried for 6 hours and i still can’t get it.. they are olmost afraid of gay-people! i don’t accept this! NEVER!!

  18. nicolaruth27 on November 11th, 2008 12:02 am

They f***ing fired her??? Are you kidding me?? What happened to them developing this relationship like any other? I am so sad, this was my favourite tv show until today! And for Brooke to give us this amazing performance and then right after it they let her go?? As a gay woman myself I am shocked and very disappointed in ABC for their cowardly retreat from this groundbreaking and very touching storyline!!!!!!!

  19. robotcookie2208 on November 11th, 2008 12:02 am

I’m with you and I advise everybody who loved Erica to stop watching Greys Anatomy. How can they give us a beautiful scene one week and then fire her!!!

  20. ydemrifle07 on November 11th, 2008 12:02 am

I cannot believe ABC actually fired Brooke Smith. This is just ridiculous, and trying to deny that it was because she played a gay character is just insulting. I’m boycotting ABC. Who’s with me?

  21. brookefan31 on November 11th, 2008 12:02 am

Brooke Smith is awesome!! I love her voice, her smile, everything about her. What a great actress!!

  22. Achyuta1988 on November 11th, 2008 12:02 am

OMG Callie, you….not so pleasant woman!!!!
I hope they’ll be okay I mean they just belong to eachother, I get the point Calie freaked out but then just leave Erica like that?

  23. nicolaruth27 on November 11th, 2008 12:02 am

I feel dissatisfied at how they left it at the end between these two. And it’s bugging me how Callie still hasn’t said she’s sorry at any point! The girl has no manners! I totally get Callie freaking out and everything but walking away just seems heartless. Even if Callie doesn’t care for Erica like Erica does for her, they’re still friends right? Don’t friends at least comfort each other when they get upset and start to cry??? I wanna give Erica a great big hug!!!

  24. TheSweetMusician on November 11th, 2008 12:02 am

aw i felt so bad for erica when callie just left and looked all freaked out. i almost started crying it was soo sad:’(
